Tom Kennedy, national and international legendary art car artist, passed away Easter weekend. He drown in the Pacific Ocean while swimming. His art car life started here in Houston with Ripper the Friendly Shark, but the story doesn't end there. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1893506,00.html There was an extraordinary Memorial Service for Tom in San Francisco the weekend before Houston's Art Car Weekend, attended by friends, family and artists from across the country. Thank you Eric Kolflat for the wonderful documentary film made in Tom's memory. It was shown on Friday night, at Houston Art Car Weekend's event, Sneak Peek, at Discovery Green. A Viking Ship processional ended the evening with 5 ships sailing in the Pond, burning our blessings, thoughts and notes to those we've lost this past year.
Gone, but never forgotten, you will be missed my friend.
